Eastland, Editor fiSSIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION Building Inspector Bob Hope reported to the Board of Commissioners that PERKS UP IN PINE KNOLL SHORES there presently are 19 new residential buildings under construction in Pine Knoll Shores. In addition, he said, five condominiums are under construction. In his report, Mr. Hope said that permits have been issued for five more single family residences and 43 condominium units. At the same time, he said three certificates of occupancy were issued. In other business coming before the Board at their meeting on Tuesday, July 13, Commissioner Gibson reported that certain street repairs have been accomplished, including the filling in of a trench across Juniper at Cypress and the filling of pot holes in the pavement • of Oakleaf Drive, Holly and Cypress Roads. He said that "Dead End", "Stop", "No Parking" and "Library" signs have been erected at appropriate locations; at the same time, the Planning Board was requested to provide a study of poor visibility at intersections. The study concerning the location of street lights by George Zeller and Fred Korff has been completed, and they have recommended some 20 locations where street lighting would be advantageous. The police department will review the recommendations before installation begins. Commissioner Gibson also reported a new mosquito sprayer has been purchased. Mayor Cleveland reported that the State Department of Transportation will shortly place "No Parking" signs on Salter Path Road in the problem areas indicated by a recent study. He also noted that there presently are several ordinances prohibiting parking on Salter Path Road and instructed the town attorney, Ken Kirkman, to prepare a proper ordinance that will supercede the others.
