OUR NEW Kate and Forest Mangum moved from Laurel Hill, N. C., near Laurinburg, to 135 Hawthorne. They had lived on NEIGHBORS a farm growing a pasture and at one time raising pigs. They decided to retire to Pine Knoll Shores. Both are graduates of St. Andrews College. Forest likes to fish. He has a workshop in the garage where he makes bookcases and "other things" for the children. Kate enjoys gardening, bird watching, latch hook rug making and some cooking. They have two children, David, five years old, who will begin kindergarten in the fall, and Genia, three. They have two muts, named Judy and Sarah. Marge and Karl Kalning found Pine Knoll Shores as they were seeking a place where they could retire. VJhlle staying at the V/haler Inn they went looking around Pine Knoll Shores and ran into the Hallers. They had been coming here for five years before retiring. In March they began moving into their new home at 116 Walnut Circle. Since then Karl has been working on the interior of the home doing wood finishing and other things. Prior to retirement, he had been Sales Manager for Hope’s Windows in J^estovm, N. Y. The firm manufactures commercial and architectural windows. Both Karl and Marge enjoy fishing, boating, the water and gardening. Also she likes crafts and flower arranging. They have a daughter and two grandsons.—Olga Hedrick THIS *N The PKS Food Co-Of will meet on Tuesday, August 24, at 2 p.m., at the Town Hall for orders for September 17-1^ THAT... delivery. Pine Knoll Shores has signed a contract with Waste Industries for trash and garbage pick-up. They request all trash and garbage be put out by §:00 a.m. for pick-up on Monday and Thursday.
