-3- Bill Bosse particularly stressed the need for a procedure which would result in giving member of the Board an opportunity to discuss his or her reasons for favoring a ”yes** or a **no" vote so that each member might have the benefit of the reasoning of all Board members. All such discussion would, under State law, necessarily occur in a public session. Chairman 0d Baker named a Committee of three (himself, Mary Korff and Deui Vaughan, with Mary as Chairperson) to draft such a set of procedural rules, including a specific statement on the effect of an **abstention”, and present it for discussion at a future meeting. In addition to those mentioned above, members of the Board of Adjustment include Ken Knight and Milt Yaeck, Alternates are Bob Ames, Bill Birkel, Bill Bosse and Bill Macdonald, The Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on June 7th with respect to Revenue Sharing Funds, Commissioner Bill Dixson reported that there is $^1,999, in the Revenue REVEHUE Account and that he anticipated receipt of an additional sum of $4,818 during SHARING year. He stated that it is expected that the Town will spend some $25,000, —— on a new ambulance. There was no discussion of any of these matters by anyone present, PI® is really a most cosmopolitan TownI At least, the people who own property here are not a small, provincial group - they come from all over the place. Indicative of this pjg situation is this list of non-residents of North Carolina who own property within the limited jurisdiction of Pine Knoll Association, Inc,: and the N.Y, - 38 Conn, — 8 Ind, — 2 Kan, — 1 N.J. — 27 Mich, - 5 Ga. — 2 S.C, — 1 Va, — 26 W.Va, — k vt. — 2 Col, — 1 Ohio - 19 111. — 4 Tex, — 2 Minn. — 1 Pa, — 14 Cal. ~ 3 Wis. — 2 AND Md, — 10 Ky. — 2 Ma. — 2 Canada Fla, 9 Del, — 2 Wa, — 1 Germany — Switzerland 1 2 - 1 Surprised? And remember that the list covers only a portion of the Town, This is the fourth in our mini-series about our PKS motels. This time we look at the Rameuia Inn, The Raaada is not only the tallest structure in PKS, but the highest in Carteret County according to Mrs, Mansfield, mother of the Manager, The Inn, built in 197^ was begun before PKS was incorporated as a Town and is seven stories high. It is owned through a corporate set-up by Melvin Mansfield, Jr, and Doran Kilpatrick. Mr, Mansfield serves as Manager of the Inn and Mr, Kilpatrick as Assistant Manager, It is apparent that Mrs, Mansfield, to whom we spoke about the hei^t of the Inn, con- rSaDA tributes greatly to its efficient operation, INN The motel maintains 97 rentable rooms, each of which has an ocean view and each of which enjoys a private balcony. It operates the "Clam Digger** restaurant which offers all three meals seven days a week, a restaurant which a Ramada Inspector has asserted serves more food than any other Ramada Inn in North Carolina, The Inn has an almost 100^ occupancy in Summer and its year round average is 72?^, it min the past served as host to a great many conventions and it still does so, particularly use so many of them have returned again and again. The Inn offers an outdoor pool for its guests and for their further pleasure it operates the **Cutty Sark Lounge** with entertain ment nightly except Sundays,
