We want some of you to join our volunteer rescue squad and fire ' department, * We also want you to become part of our town government so that your area of town | can help control our destiny, i Again welcome and please. let's get acquainted. * Most cordially yours, * Wayne P, Cleveland - Mayor * J A Public Hearing was held at the Town Hall on July I2th with respect to a proposed moratorium on building east of Cedar Street from the Sound to the Ocean, The prohibition against building had been proposed x)ending completion of a study of drainage problems in that area. Various officials with expertise in drainage problems attended the hearing to supply technical eidvice, including County officers and representatives of CAMA and of the Corps PUBLIC HEARING Engineers, A number of PKS citizens participated in the dis- cussion which followed, commenting upon the drainage problems and AND the probable effect of the proposed moratorium, COMMISSIONERS MEETING The Board meeting, held immediately after the conclusion of the public hearing, was addressed by Mr, Von Oesen of the engineering firm of Henry Von Oesen and Associates, Inc, of Wilmington, N. C, He made tentative suggestions as to how the Town's drainage problems might be corrected. He stated that the cost of a study by his firm would not exceed $6500. and could be completed within ^5 days. The Board of Commissioners accepted the Von Oesen proposal.
