The Planning Board met on July 15» In reviewing the previous meeting it was
pointed out that consideration of changing the minimum "lot” size to 1200 square feet was

BOARD MEETS discussion of the sign ordinance concerning c(»>mercial zones
which is "being prepared for presentation to the commissioners,
Robert Youngblood, as requested, presented his plans to fill in lots 1, 2 and 3
of the Flairway Subdivision and a storm water management plan approved by an engineering
fir«. The Board members tabled the proposal with the understanding that the Building
Inspector would look it over and give a report on it,
Clyde lamn gave a report on the Litter Ordinance. The area where most violations
occur Is airound the Iron Steamer Pier, Management seems to be xmable to contain the
problem.
Harry Schlimper gave an account of his meeting with the State Department of Trans
portation in regard to the drainage from the highway into the canal and the pollution
causes. A 5“inch collar could be placed on the drain pipes so that no water would drain^P
into the canal unless there was a deluge which raised «ie water above that level in the
road gutters. He added that the town is also making a strudy of what effect heat pump
drainage into the canal has on pollution,

The Community Appearance Commission, at its August meeting, voted to change their
meeting date to the first Wednesday of the month at liOO p.m. The meetings will last li
hours with an additional 30 minutes allowed for specific site visitations,
COMMUNITY Ann Hitch reported on the meeting called by Mayor Hanan to coordinate the
AFPEEARANCE function of the Appearance Couaission, the PIKSCO Architectural Control
Coomittee and the Pine Knoll Association Architectural Control Committee,
COHHISSION It was agreed that building plans would be considered by the committees
separately, and if there were a disagreement a joint meeting would be held.
Gordon Gibson, commercial sub-cnuiittee member, reported thatthey had approved
the Pine Knoll Townes storage extension and the Center Ridge Condominiums plems.
The CoBmission is concered with the problem the Iron Steamer Pier is having with
suggested that more trash bins mi^t be the answer. Chairman Garrett will
ask for a meeting with them to discuss the problem.
The Building Inspector presented the drawings of Ocean Ridge West for the C»imi^k
