Mayor Hanan requested cooperation from residents in identifying any and all persons within the Town who are disabled or incapacitated to the extent that special help is needed [e.g. oxygen, wheelchair] in case evacuation is ordered. The County requests this information so that proper plans can be made. --------- oOo --------- PLANNING BOARD MEETING - DECEMBER 15, 1986 Steve Foley, a member of Foley and Foley Marine Contractors, Inc. of New Bern, presented an explanation on preventive maintenance of canal docks. He gave the Planning Board members a copy of Fairfield Harbour's Property Control Committee Specifications on Building Permits for refacing, replacement, new bulkheads, docks, piers, walkways, outer pilings. Mr. Foley emphasised that when the concrete cap deterioates on a bulk head, it must be removed. It must be replaced by treated lumber. He explained in detail the procedure utilized in replacement of concrete caps. Mr. Foley showed photos his company takes of bulkheads in need of repair. The present cost of the replacement of bulkheads is $48. per running foot. His company gives a guarantee of 15 years. Mr. Millard Williams, Manager of Holiday Inn presented preliminary plans of the proposed convention center for approval. Mr. Bill Ballantine, Building Inspector explained Pine Knoll Village Shopping Center's proposed height. This measurement is from the mean sea level. The possibility of requiring completion of homes within one year's time was further discussed with no determination made. A list of items to cover for 1987 was made. KANYHA --------- oOo --------- COMMUNITY APPEARANCE COMMISSION MEETING - JANUARY 7, 1987 Jim Lancaster, a representative for the developers of Pine Knoll Village Shopping Center, presented for approval a site plan of the first phase of buildings to be con structed. After describing the plans, Mr. Lancaster assured the members that the land scaping will be done in an attractive manner and any suggestions members had would be given to the architect. A discussion followed on approval of plans of a house which is to be moved from the village of Salter Path to Willow Road. Plans furnished were inadequate. Concern about the completion of a house on Loblolly Drive, that has been^ left unfinished was brought to the attention of the commission. Rachel Mangum volunteered to represent Pine Knoll Shores on Carteret County Beautification Committee. A workshop was mertioied for Community Appearance Commission members to be held in lew Bern.
