COMMISSIONERS POSTPONE MEETING
On the designated date of March 9th the Commissioners met only to find that a
quorum was not present and adjourned the meeting until March 17 at 2:00 p.m. A report
on that meeting will be in the April issue.
PLANNING BOARD MEETS
At the regular meeting on February 22nd the Planning Board heard a report from
the building inspector that the Capalbo house on Loblolly which has stood unfinished
for more than a year has been permitted to resume construction.
The Board revised its recommendation to the Commissioners regarding an ordinance
controlling fuel storage tanks in Pine Knoll Shores. Representatives of the industry,
Frank Famularo and Bob Bartlett were present at the meeting to clarify the fire codes.
Members also recommended to the Commissioners an ordinance enforcing clean-up,
repair and/or removal of damaged structures located over public trust waters [canal,
Rezoning from C-1 to C-2 of Fairway Villas property was also recommended.
Their final recommendation was the revised landscaping permit which controls the
removal of live trees.
Two members. Jack Green and Cliff Mitchell, are preparing use charts covering
all zones in the town for the use of NR:CD planners in preparing and editorial revision
of town zoning.
COMMUNITY APPEARANCE COMMISSION
The Commission heard the inspection report for February.
Other concerns covered were: location of portable toilets at building sites;
debris left on the right-of-way; live tree removal ordinance; and, the condition of
the landing at Garner Park.
