It was explained that there were no substantive changes to the zoning ordinance involved, in answer to one of the questions. It was merely an effort to in corporate our ordinance into a more efficient form. At the meeting the Commissioners made their reports. Commissioner Johnson summarized his report on finances by saying that approximately 1/2 of 1% of revenues have so far been collected in this new fiscal year, and about 8% of expenditures have been made. Only one tax is outstanding from the fiscal year 85/87. Commissioner Roderick reported that water has been installed in the planting sites on Oakleaf Drive and Mimosa Boulevard. Repaving of a portion of Oakleaf Drive is in progress. Spraying for mosquitoes is done on a weekly basis during this heavily infested season. He also said that the complaints about the storm drain at Beechwood Drive was studied and steps will be taken to raise the lip to 7 or 8 inches to decrease the flow of water from the street to the canal. Commissioner Shedd said that there was no report from the Planning Board since a quorum was not present at the July meeting. The Building Inspection report showed that one residential permit, eight miscellaneous permits but no commercial permits were issued in July. Two CO's were given. Commissioner Sotir said that the Rescue Squad desired to raise the level of EMT capability to include EMT-D [Defibrilation]. This will require more hours of training and more equipment. Matching funds will be requested to help finance this project. It is hoped that all this can be accomplished within the next six months. There were ten emergency calls in July. Police answered 181 calls and performed 22 breatholizer tests and the Fire Squad answered two calls in July, Commissioner White reported. TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES.
