®-v. • » k Page -7- PINE KNOLL SHORES GARDEN CLUB •Under the leadership of newly elected President, Bobbie Ready, the Garden Club began its 14th year with an exciting and most interesting program on BONSAI given by Walter Wenzel. A real enthusiast of the ancient Japanese art, Mr. Wenzel shared but a portion of his most extensive personal collection. The club looks forward to another successful year of continuing projects. Mark your calendar now! !! GREEN BAG DAY will be October 19. Christmas Eve Luminaria kits will again be sold throughout the town and available in early December. Weekly plant care at the North Carolina Aquarium is ongoing. Anyone wishing to donate a healthy plant, maybe an extra one if your propagation efforts were successful, or one maybe too large to bring indoors, please contact Lois Jean O'Keefe at 247-4100. Our 1988-1989 yearbook prepared so ably by Marge Sellers sports a new cover this year. A big thank you to Jo Cox for her design. Louise Jolitz, projects chairman this year, indicates there will be new additions in some of our parks and basins soon. Be watching!! LOIS JEAN O'KEEFE The Shore Line goes to press too soon to report on the Ancient Mariners' organiza tional dinner on Tuesday, the 20th of September. Maybe next month! !!! ! Bowling starts Monday October 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Carteret Lanes, Highway 70 West, Morehead City. Substitute bowlers are needed, so dust off that old ball and give Dot Herbst a call at 247-2879. If you can't reach Dot, don't give up. Call Ann Hitch 247-6272, Ellie Long 247-6354, or Bob Kent 247-3940. You need but to be a resident of PKS to qualify. The PKS Food Co-op will meet on Wednesday, September 28th at Town Hall.
