LUMINARIA 1988 [From the land]
The annual Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club sponsored Christmas Eve lighting of
candles on the sea walls and along the roads added to the beauty of the season. Par
ticularly impressive were the two boat basins: Hall Ha\-enarranged by Yola and Ken
Hanan, Nell Crumley, Peter Crumley and Nancy Marshall and Brock Basin by Pat and Bill
Flinn, Dan and Pat Nuzzi, Luke Hargroves, and Charlie McGibbon. This lighting was
dedicated to the memory of the neighbors who had died this year.
This year's boat parade was directed by Bob Gallo and St. Nick's presence made
possible by Bill Macdonald. Viewers came on foot and in cars from the island as well
as the mainland to enjoy the celebration.

LUMINARIA [From the Water1
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through Pine Knoll Shores, the Christmas
spirit was aglow. The annual PKS boat pageant started at Brock Basin and wound its
way throughout the Pine Knoll water system.
This year the residents of PKS outdid themselves - not only did they light the
waterways with their luminarias, they also had their houses, yards and Christmas trees
lighted. The sight was beautiful to see.
