Page -5- A graduate accountant, Diane has worked in accounting, advertising and marketing for a radio station and for the Stauffer chain. In spite of her • igorous schedule, she plans to look for part-time work before too long and till have lots of time for daughter Breanne, a name found in a book that combines Bruce and Diane. Since Breanne is a September birthday girl who'll be ONE, mother and daughter hope to come to the September Birthday Party, proving that Pine Knoll Shores does have a growing population of those under fifty. Welcome to this young family YOLA HANAN PINE KNOLL SHORES FIRE DEPARTMENT -- OPEN HOUSE OCTOBER 9, 1990 - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. SUPPORT YOUR VOLUNTEER FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENTS! Demonstrations: 3:00 p.m. - Rescue Squad will begin Blood Pressure checks. Visitors will be welcome to browse through pamphlets, fire infor mation, Rescue Squad information. Health and Safety Tips. 3:30 p.m. - Use of Fire extinguishers-info re: chimney fires, etc. 4:00 p.m. - Demonstration of hoses, deluge guns, etc. 4:30 p.m. - Use of air masks and packs. 5:00 p.m. - Emergency vehicles. Blood pressure checks will be offered throughout the afternoon. Refreshments will be served between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. by the Ladies Auxiliary. Children will be allowed to climb on the fire engines. A great time parents to take pictures of their kids! ^^There will be important information concerning the operations of the Fire Department and Rescue Squad and tips on fire and rescue safety. BIG SWEEP '90 Get ready for the Big Sweep, Saturday September 22nd. Wonder what un usual items we'll turn up this year? Come to Ocean Park parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for equipment and assign ments to join in this year's National Beach Cleanup. IMPORT ANT - be sure to wear shoes, gloves, hats and carry water. Call Marge Michael at 247-6695 to volunteer or for further information. PINE KNOLL SHORES GARDEN CLUB We hope you have seen the crepe myrtles blooming in the median strip at Oakleaf and Salter Path. Your money from our flower sale in the Spring goes to beautify Pine Knoll Shores. Mark your calendar! The annual Green Bag Day will be October 24 - helpers are needed - Men, are you listening? - to get spit and polish to PKS streets. We meet at Brock Basin at 10:30 a.m. for assignments. Later at Town Hall we'll have chili, soda, beer and cookies for all workers. It's fun!Prizestoo! The Luminaria will be scheduled for Christmas Eve unless the weather interferes.
