Mayor Hanan read a memo agreement proposing the formation of an ad hoc
committee be formed to study alternatives to the existing drainage control
project. The committee will include Carl Heffelfinger, Charles Peterson,
John Cronk, Cliff Mitchell and Clark Hutchinson and one or more members of
the Town Board.[A full summary of the memo is included in this issue].
The Mayor also wished to thank Ed Moeller for the Highway 58 street
^^gns holiday decorations.
Commissioner Blanchard thanked the Garden Club and Erma Johnson for
the Town Hall Christmas decorations. Commissioner Blanchard has assigned
Frank Herbst to trim any trees along the right-of-ways that might be limit
ing visibility which could be considered a traffic safety hazard. Mr.
Blanchard also will install 2 large size containers behind Town Hall and
eliminate the existing recycling barrels. He also proposed that the Commis
sioners give some thought to the design of an official Town Seal.
Commissioner Gibson reported that the police answered 84 calls,
assisted in one traffic accident and two traffic arrests for DWI.
Commissioner Hasulak read a letter from the Chief of the Fire Depart
ment of the Town of Stella thanking Pine Knoll Shores for the donation of
a fire hose. He also stated that Rescue Squad and Fire notifications from
