This is for large items not usually picked up on regular collection days. Paint cans, tires, batteries and oil cans cannot be included. He also reported that traffic island painting is being per formed on Mimosa Blvd. and Oakleaf Drive, Commissioner Gallo read revenue and expenditure figures for September. Tax collections totaled $93,430 or 23% of budget revenues. Expenditures were $51,559 or 20% of budget. Mr. Gallo noted that tax collections would be higher than budgeted due to the increase in town ratables. The Board approved his request to put into effect the revised personnel Policy Guide as of July 1, 1991. CommissLaner Husalak pre$nted the public safety report in the absence • of Commissioner Gibson. He introduced Dave Cloutier of the N. C. Department of Justice who presented a placque to officer Don McAllister for successful completion of a Justice Department training course. Officer Andy Macklin is now enrolled in this same program, and Pine Knoll Shores should be proud that our police officers are improving their professional skills. Commissioner Hasulak noted that ther^ were 105 police responses, 4 traffic accidents, 1 DWI, 1 break-in and entering and 1 larceny reported for September. Mr. Hasulak announced that in the future road blocks set up during a civil emergency will allow qualified vehicles to pass through Pine Knoll Shores on Salter Path Road. Persons requiring access through town must obtain a pass at Town Hall. Commissioner Roderick noted that a State mandated levy on new construc tion will add $5.00 to the cost of the building permit, $1.00 of which will remain at Pine Knoll Shores.
