COMMISSIONERS MEET APRIL 14, 1992
Commissioner Blanchard re
ported that the North Carolina
DOT has agreed to allow Pine
Knoll Shores to mow the right of
way on Highway 58. The Town will
be reimbursed $1900 for the work.
The T.A. Loving Co. proposal for
draining waters during periods of
extreme flooding was approved.
The County Emergency Agency has
agreed to supply new street signs
for the Town which will assist
police, fire and rescue squads to
respond more quickly to emergen
cies.
In the absence of Commis
sioner Gallo, Town Clerk Corinne
Geer announced the Town is conti
nuing the appointment of the firm
of Kirkman and Whitford to repre
sent PKS in all legal matters.
Commissioner Hasulak invited Mike
•Adderton, County Emergency Coor
dinator, to present his proposal
* for a nonvoluntary paramedic ser
vice for the county. Commission
er Hasulak reported that OSHA
regulations require that fire and
rescue personnel receive the Hep
atitis B vaccine. This will cost
$2,000. Mr. Hasulak announced
that a Civil Preparedness Meeting
will be held on May 29 at 2 PM in
Town Hall. Guest speaker will be
Berry Williams State Coordinator
NFIP.
Commissioner Musgrave re
ported that Town police responded
to 137 calls for assistance and 4
breaking and enterings. The po
lice apprehended the suspect, and
he is awaiting trial. Also mail
box vandalism occurred along Mi
mosa Blvd. The young suspects
were caught and made to apologize
to the victims and to pay for
damages. The owners of a loose
dog were taken to court and fined
$270.
