A copy of the proposed budget and budget message will be available for review by the public in the office of the Town Clerk during regular office hours. Updated Computer System. In order to better serve the citizens of the town and keep up with computer technology, the hardware for the administrative office has been up-graded. The old system is for sale and can be seen at the Town Hall. Commissioner Gallo will be glad to assist any interested buyer. As a result of this upgrade, the Shoreline will now be typed in the Administrative office. Kudos to the Emergency Medical Squad. We all recognize how wonderful our EMS squad is but their skills were really put to the test when, on Saturday before Easter, while answering a call, our Bob Herbst was stricken. Commissioner Schultz thanked Chief Teddy Wimberley for her outstanding performance in handling the unusual situation. Multifamily - Zone Amended. Single family restrictions as regards setbacks and lot size have been revised to bring single family homes and lots in MF-2 zone into compliance. Because of a unique dune ridge running through Forest Dunes, fifteen lots have been given special designation in order to allow an ocean view from at least one floor. Fishing Piers have been designated as a permitted use in Multifamily Zone 1. Previously only motels, hotels, condominiums, cooperative type apartment buildings, apartment houses, and restaurants where table service only is provided were allowed. Beach Erosion Study Committee. Mayor Hasulak will appoint a committee to study oceanfront erosion with the possibility of preparing a long range comprehensive beach protection plan. Ruth Evans Sweeny will head this group. Meeting. Mayor Dave Hasulak and Commissioners Gallo, Musgrave and Schultz attended the NCLM regional meeting in Jacksonville on Wednesday, April 20. Issues discussed were intangibles tax and water quality regulations. WE APPRECIATE! REENTRY Much thanks is due Ellen Peirce, who has edited the Shoreline for NEW PASSES ARE BEING ISSUED THIS YEAR WHICH CONTAIN PERTINENT INFORMATION CONCERNING EVACUATION. OLD PASSES ARE TO BE EXCHANGED the past year. Over the years, our town has been fortunate to have volunteer editors who have very ably edited the Shoreline. Our sincere appreciation to all. AT THE TOWN HALL.
