NEH NEIGHBORS BOB CURRY, recently retired, has moved into his new home at 104 Live Oak Court with his Schnauzer, Rags, on September 2, 1994. He is a native of High Point, NC, but spent 42 years in Charlottesville, VA, where he worked for the Upjohn Co. He first came to this area many years' ago when he was associated with the Duke University Lab. Subsequently, he returned almost every year to vacation here. Bob has two daughters both of whom live in Raleigh. One daughter is a landscape horticulturist and is helping Bob with the landscaping around his home. His other daughter is an interior designer married to an ar chitect. He enjoys gardening, woodworking and fishing. When I asked him if he had any special thoughts on Pine Knoll Shores he said, "I couldn't find better neighbors anywhere." Judy Poit BILL SCHMID has just moved into his new home at 133 Hawthorne Dr. with Schwartz, which means "black" in German, his part-lab/part-cocker span iel. Bill originally came from Morristown, New Jersey, but for the past 30 years he lived south of Boston, Mass. where he was an instructor in marketing at North Eastern University. Prior to being an instructor, he. had been in publishing and advertising. Bill has 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls, living all over the world. In April, he will be a grandfather for the first time. Some years' ago a friend from Long Island took him up and down the coast from the Outer banks to Charleston. Bill was impressed with the trees and lush vegetation in Pine Knoll Shores. His friend called Fran and Art Miller who were kind enough to fill him in on the details of the area. They have been friends ever since. Bill enjoys golf, fishing and bike riding. When I asked him if he had any special thoughts on Pine Knoll Shores, he said he was enjoying the quiet after the noise he encountered in the Boston area. Judy Poit JACK AND CAROL MORAN built their home four years' ago at 149 Mimosa Blvd. and lived there only a few months when he accepted a job in England for a year, which stretched into three years. They are now finally full time residents of PKS since October 1994. Jack and Carol are from Rye, NY, where Carol was a nurse, then went into special education in White Plains, NY. Jack was a construction manager. In their three-year stay in England, Jack was with 9X Company as a consultant. While in England, they lived in Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester, thoroughly enjoying their stay there but glad to be back to the USA. Carol has four children and Jack has seven; he also has 13 grand children. They are spread all over the country. Their one son bought a new lab puppy but couldn't manage it with working. So they are the new adopted parents of a 6 week old, friskie, chocolate lab called Lou. Carol and Jack both enjoy tennis and bowling. Betty Lee Foulk IVELGOME 4
