AUGUST BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING WATER REPORT The Town is busy following all the legal procedures to have the Water Bonds on the November 7 ballot. Commissioner Gallo reported that all the government agencies have been contacted and the application approved for funding. He presented a Budget Amendment to move funds from the Reserve- Water and Sewer Fund to take care of the bond attorney fees and engineering costs. A resolution relating to the authorization and issuance of water bonds was also presented along with a notice of public hearing for the water bonds and the possible impact to wetlands and floodplains. The Board approved all of these actions unanimously. TAX BILLS Town residents can expect their tax bills from the Town to arrive on or about September 1. The Carteret County tax bills are always the first to be mailed and then the Tax Office supplies the towns in the county with their individual information. OSHA REPORT The OSHA Inspector complimented the town on its record of no recorded injuries or illnesses in the past three years. Several deficiencies were discussed and a time limit for them to be corrected. STOP LIGHT The Board of Commissioners passed a Resolution asking the N.C. Dept, of Transportation to take whatever steps and necessary to justify the location of a stop light at the intersection of Mimosa Blvd. & Hwy. 58.
