AUGUST BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING
WATER REPORT
The Town is busy following all the legal procedures to have the Water
Bonds on the November 7 ballot. Commissioner Gallo reported that all the
government agencies have been contacted and the application approved for
funding. He presented a Budget Amendment to move funds from the Reserve-
Water and Sewer Fund to take care of the bond attorney fees and
engineering costs. A resolution relating to the authorization and
issuance of water bonds was also presented along with a notice of public
hearing for the water bonds and the possible impact to wetlands and
floodplains. The Board approved all of these actions unanimously.
TAX BILLS
Town residents can expect their tax bills from the Town to arrive on
or about September 1. The Carteret County tax bills are always the first
to be mailed and then the Tax Office supplies the towns in the county
with their individual information.

The OSHA Inspector complimented the town on its record of no recorded
injuries or illnesses in the past three years. Several deficiencies were
discussed and a time limit for them to be corrected.
STOP LIGHT
The Board of Commissioners passed a Resolution asking the N.C. Dept,
of Transportation to take whatever steps and necessary to justify the
location of a stop light at the intersection of Mimosa Blvd. & Hwy. 58.
