Welcome New Residents
Carol and Walter Yentock moved into their new home at 108 Cedar Road in the beginning of
September.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, they moved to Massapequa Park, LI where Walter was a Policeman.
He was a Detective Sergeant with Nassau County Police Department for 22 years. He retired and
moved to Pittsboro, NC in 1979 where Walt was self-employed in private investigation. Carol
worked as medical transcriptionist at UNC Hospital. Then she worked as a secretary for an
investment counselor in Chapel Hill. She is in process of trying to find a part-time position here.
They have a married daughter, Laura, who is a nurse in Elizabeth, Colorado, outside Denver and
a son, Walter III in Durham, NC, who is also a nurse and is married to a nurse (it runs in the family).
They also have a boxer called Brandy and a 16-year-old cat called Phyllis that get along
beautifully.
Walt and Carol had friends with condos in Atlantic Beach and Beaufort. This gave them the
privilege of vacationing here often. Since they enjoyed it so, they decided to move here.
Carol enjoys sewing and doing cross stitch and wants to take up golf in the near future. He also

About the end of August, Maureen and Bob Danehy moved into 106 Loblolly Drive, a lovely
place but dark; so they began repainting it white throughout, changed a door here and a window
there and it's delightful. They moved here from Coventry, Connecticut where Bob was a principal
in the Groton School System. Maureen managed a dental office. Maureen is full of fun and ready
to jump into things. Bob's still busy settling in.
Maureen belonged to the same club with Lorraine Kiel back in Connecticut. They visited here
seven times. Since they had lived near the water and loved it, this was ideal and had less drastic
winters and change of seasons. The last trip here they walked by the house for sale, put in a bid
and they were owners that night.
They rented the house for three years until they retired and moved from Connecticut to Pine Knoll
Shores.
They have three children; daughter, Leslie, single, in Danbury, Conn.; son. Bob, in Ann Arbor, Ml.,
who has two children, a girl and a boy; and daughter, Maura, also single, who moved to Ann Arbor
to be with her brother. They also have a small dog called Happy. She's 12 years old and certainly
takes after her name. She's a Cairn Terrier.
Bob likes to golf, is a substitute bowler and wants to do come fishing. He's looking for a boat (any
sellers out there, call him). Marian wants to golf after more lessons and loves bridge. Both play and
would enjoy couples bridge and would like to substitute if you need them. (Phone 240-2945)
Betty Lee Foulk
Eleanor Brucker moved into her new home at 111 Live Oak Court from Demarest, New Jersey,
in October, 1994. She had been employed by the Exxon Corporation in Manhattan, New York, for
thirty-seven years. Greeting me happily at the door was Holly, Eleanor's 10-year old black terrier.
For the past ten years Eleanor had visited her sister, Evelyn Smith, in McGinnis Point and had
