They have four children: Tom, a commander in the Coast Guard, married with one daughter, age
10 living in Maryland; Robert, married with a daughter age 4 and a son 19 months, living in
Columbia, SC; and daughter Marianne, married with three daughters, 5,3 and 18 months, who lives
in Northfield, MA. Lots of nice places to visit.
Both Ray and Mary play golf and are looking forward to boating. Ray reads anything he can get
his hands on. Mary likes to knit and crochet.
They say they haven't met anyone who has anything negative to say about Pine Knoll Shores.

Sherry and Dr. Walt Wardell moved into their canal-front home at 111 Acorn Court last month.
Sherry comes from Lancaster, PA, and Walt is from Califor, NJ. After completing his residency up
north, Walt looked for a place with a warmer climate where he and Sherry could enjoy the beach
and boating. He accepted a position in internal medicine at the Eastern Carteret Medical Center in
Sea Level and they relocated to Atlantic Beach.
Sherry is a physical therapy assistant and also works in Sea Level. Rounding out their family is
Lyndsey a beautiful, friendly part lab/part collie.
While looking for a home near the beach, they discovered Pine Knoll Shores. It had everything
they were looking for, so here they are. They both love the summer and PKS affords them the beach,
plenty of canals, the Sound for their wave runner and wonderful neighbors. We welcome them.

Eugene and Claire Doyle bought their home on the beach three years' ago but just moved in to it
at 105 Knollwood Drive September, 1995. Eugene, better known as Larry, has been from the
Washington DC area all of his life. Claire was born and raised in Shreveport, LA. They moved here
from Mitchellville, MD and did a lot of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.
They both worked for the Federal Government. Larry was with the General Services
Administration in the computer field for all federal government. Claire was a management analyst
in the General Accounting Office.
They have one son, Michael, who just moved here with them and is a temporary teacher for a
short while teaching science at East Carteret High School. In a few weeks, he will be with the Cape
Lookout Alternative School teaching math. He moved here from Ithaca, NY. He also is with the
Aquarium at PKS. The Doyles have two gorgeous English Bulldogs, a female named Spike and a
male called Rocky. Claire enjoys sailing and may take up golf. Betty Lee Foulk
Melida and Lawrence Zell reside at 114 Holly Road. They moved there in July of 1995 from Atlantic
Beach where they lived until they bought here in PKS. They were originally from Kingston, NY,
where Larry worked for 33 years for IBM. Melida was also with IBM until her children came along.
They have three daughters: Lillian Barrance, living in Kingston, NY who has two children; Vivian
Vronin in Raleigh, NC who has three children; and Susan Griffith, who just got married in October
with a wee bit of a different wedding. They decided to be married in Scotland.
Being that 2/3 of their family is located in Raleigh, they spend a lot of their time there, although
they also spend time in Florida in the winter and will be leaving shortly for the warmth and
sunshine.
Larry enjoys hunting and stream fishing. Hopefully he'll find that here he also ties flies. Melida
enjoys gardening and baking and cooking. Betty Lee Foulk
