MEET THE COP CANDIDATES THE PKS Republican Precinct will be hosting its "Meet the Republican Candidates" night at Town Hall on Thursday, Septenaber 26. The "price of admission" is an interest in what our candidates have to say about themselves, and the offices to which they hope to be elected. Candidates expected to appear are those for State Senate, State Representative (2), County Commissioner (7), and Judicial seats (2). Come on out and hear why these people want to be elected and what they hope to accomplish if they are elected. (Note: to Independents and Democrats. This is an open meeting; you are invited to hear what our candidates have to say for themselves.) Jack Millis (247-5985) PKS EMS SQUAD #65 PKS EMS Squad met on ^ August 5 at the home of Charlie and Patti Swetz. Bar-B-Q preceded the meeting, hosted by the Swetz's and the Lindblad's. 22 members and spouses attended. The new Reeves stretchers are now on each ambulance. This equipment is a great help in lifting and carrying a patient when transporting is difficult. Ted Lindblad was thanked for lettering the doors on Ambulance 1. We have been asked to assist at football •games at West Carteret High School We get free popcorn and a soda and enjoy the game! Of course we are available should a player be injured. We are submitting applications for a grant of $3,000 non-matching or a grant up to $15,000 matching. It has been suggested we buy a non-invasive blood-pressure unit to be mounted inside the ambulance. Marion Walker, Kathy Trommer and Clyde McKeand will investigate this possible purchase. Gloria Gustafson has been compiling a scrapbook of the EMS activities. There were 23 calls in July, 16 EMS, 5 transports and 2 fires.
