PINE BEETLE INFESTATION
The Town has contracted with Youngblood Construction Co. to clear Town property,
including rights-of-way, of Pine Beetle infested and/or dead trees. Stumps will be ground and
taken away. Any homeowner that chooses to use Youngblood Construction Co. will be
exempt from the normal permit requirements. However, should a homeowner choose to use
a different contractor or cut the trees themselves, they will have to go through the normal
permit process for removing trees. Homeowners and homeowners associations will have to
contract with Youngblood Construction Co. on individual jobs.
FINANCIAL REPORTING
For the eighth consecutive year, the Town of Pine Knoll Shores has been awarded the
Certificate of Achievement for its comprehensive annual financial report. This is the highest
form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its
attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government.
