Pine Knoll Shores Women's Club The annual Spring Luncheon will be held at the Dunes Club on Friday, June 5 at 11:30 a.m. The Dick Cumberland Trio will perform. June 29 is KICKOFF DAY at the Bogue Banks Library for the Summer Reading Program for children in kindergarten through 6th grades. "Go Places...Read!" begins on Monday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. and will be presented each Monday at 10:30 a.m. through August 3. Operated in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Preschool Story time, programs will include special guests who are natives of Greece and of Australia, different ways of traveling, and a closing celebration with "Miss Anne" Abernathy Roth and her "Fun for Little Ears" presentation. The Summer Film Festival, presenting two short movies each Thursday for children age four through twelve, begins on July 2 and will be each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. through August 13. Film titles will be listed in the July issue oi Shoreline. Exhibits During lune: A very successful and festive opening of the Art Gallery was experienced by many residents and visitors on Sunday, May 3, at the Bogue Banks Public Library. Also present at the reception were officers and members of the Friends of Bogue Banks Branch Library, representatives of the Carteret County Public Library, and the artists whose works are on display through June. New Books at Bogue Banks: Nicholas Sparks, author of the well- received "Notebook/' has a new book out, "Message in a Bottle." A divorced woman finds a seaborne bottle, a mysterious letter, and eventually love. Author Michael Palmer has a winner in "Miracle Cure," the story of a deadly conspiracy uncovered by a cardiologist whose initial goal is to find the facts about a miracle drug. Two mystery, mayhem, and murder writers are pleasing their reading public with new books. Anne Perry who sets most of her stories in Victorian England selects Brunswick Gardens as the environment for her newest novel. Secrets of aristocratic families are uncovered when a young man of teenage years is found murdered in the sewers beneath the streets. The tutor of the young aristocrat is charged with the murder, but Inspector Pitt and Charlotte, his wife and helpmate in solving crimes, are not satisfied. The plot thickens. Mary Higgins Clark's newest offering is “You Belong to Me." It is a certainty that there will be a reserve list on this one.
