Audit FY1997-98
The Town Auditor, Lee Carroll, CPA, presented the annual financial report for FY
1997-98. He reviewed each fund and explained that the property tax is 44% of
the total revenue for the year. The investments for the Town are yielding approximately
three cents of the ad valorem tax rate and at the end of the 1997-98 fiscal year the
revenues exceeded expenditures by $31,736. He praised the Board of Commissioners for
their diligence in monitoring the Town's money and not only taking care of present needs,
but looking to the future.
Town Honors Volunteer
Jack Thompson was honored at the November Board of Commissioners Meeting.
Jack was one of the original members of the Pine Knoll Shores Fire Department.
Jack also served two terms as a Commissioner. He has served the longest period of time
of any volunteer with the Town.
