Vhe Pine Knoll Shores Beach Preservation Association has expanded to cover all of Bogue Banks and has changed its name to the BoQue Banks Beach Preservation Association. The Board of Directors has been increased and six new members from other areas on the Banks have been elected. They include Jerry Hummel, Bob Isenhour, and Charles Vinson from Emerald Isle. Jack Goldstein from Indian Beach, Cap' n. Jim Willis from Atlantic Beach and Mr. Jody Merritt (ex-officio) from Fort Macon. The latest project of the Association is to produce a professionally made 10 plus minute video shov\/ing the eroded conditions of the island beaches and the economic impact that their loss would have on Carteret County and the State. This video will be distributed to the N.C. State Legislature. Our elected Federal representatives and other organizations both on and off the Banks to educate them on the effects of further beach erosion. They moved into it in March 1996 but are only here part time. It is in a gorgeous setting on the Sound, with a Sound view from every window. Gay was born in New Bern and has lived there and Raleigh, NC. Odell was born in Whitevllle, NC. They met in Raleigh, got married and both went into the building business. Their contracting company is in Raleigh and is called "The Future Homes." Their son joined the company last year. They have been coming to PKS since 1977 and owned a condo at Coral Bay. They then decided to build a house. Their yellow Labrador, Reba, loves it here. She runs and jumps into the Sound enjoying every minute. They have a son and daughter. Their son, Jim, married Alene, whom he met through his sister. They are expecting their first grandchild in July and are so excited. Their daughter. Penny, is a commercial leasing agent with Trammel Crowe Co. in Atlanta, GA. Gay loves cooking, working in the yard, bridge, a good book, and designing interiors for the homes her husband builds.
