Vacation time is here again and we
have a great deal of transient traffic
through our town. Unfortunately, some
people would like to take some of your
valuables with them when they leave! We
ask that you put in a "Property Check"
request with the PKS PD when you go out
of town and PLEASE call if you see
anything or anyone suspicious in the
neighborhood (504-4800 after hours and
911 if urgent).
Our "Zero Tolerance" checkpoints
were a huge success during May 24 - May
30. We took 7 drunk drivers off the road,
31 other traffic violations (DWLR, etc.), 8
drug arrests and 1 felony drug arrest. We
had a total of 79 traffic and criminal
violations. We were also fortunate in the
entire month of May with zero traffic
crashes!
We now have three (3) humane
animal traps available for the capture of
unwanted "guests". You may come by the
Town Hall and sign one out (the sign out
sheet is located at the front desk) or if you
are physically unable to do so notify the
Police Department and we will set one for
you. When the animal is captured call the
animal shelter for removal (728-8595) or
county communications (504-4800) and
advise them you have a captured animal
that needs to be removed....THE PKS
POLICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT REMOVE
THE ANIMAL!
For any additional questions call the
PKS PD at 247-4353 ext. 16 or 17.

■ Because of the concerns of
everyone regarding the year 2000
compliance issues. Mayor Musgrave
contacted the various companies that
handle water, electricity, telephone
service, cable service and banking in our
area. Written responses have been
received and all of the agencies are
addressing the potential problem that
Y2K may incur. The majority of these
suppliers have already completed their
Y2K compliance or will have it
completed in the fourth quarter of this
year. Their top priority is to provide
responsive and reliable service to their
customers. The Town has already
upgraded all necessary equipment that
would be affected by the year 2000.
Attention Boaters:
Once again we want to remind you
of the property damage taking place in our
waterways due to the wake created by
some boats. Please observe our "No
Wake" signs. Thanks....
PKA Directors
Have a Happy and Safe 4‘" of July!
