August Board of Commissioners ideating National Flood Insurance Program Pine Knoll Shores has been awarded a plaque by the National Flood Insurance Program for its participation in the Community Rating System. The Town has undertaken a series of meaningful activities to protect citizens from losses caused by flooding and has significantly exceeded the requirements for participation and effective flood plain management. Shoreline Access/Recreation Plan The Town has received a Coastal Area Management Act grant for preparation of a Shoreline Access/Recreation Plan. Dale Holland of Holland Consulting Planners, will be the planner in charge of technical and professional services in connection with the grant. The Town's participation in the Coastal Management Program will be part of a continuing effort between the state and local government for a successful Coastal Management Program. Town Adopts New Cellular Tower Ordinance After almost a year, the Town Board adopted a new ordinance regulating the construction of cellular towers.
