Submitted by: Theresa Stevens, Publicity The Ancient Mariners League After six weeks of bowling the first place team has not changed much. The first place team, the DJ'S, had better watch out, because other teams are starting to move closer! The DJ'S are Dorothy Schrader, John Riso, Dee Bierman and Jack Doyle. Closing in, in second place is SPLIT DECISION, Bill Johnston, Betty Finefrock, Don Smith and Janie Briley. Not far behind, the third place team TEDDY'S BEARS, Mary Wiker, Vaughan Brunjes, Lou Tresino and Ted Lindblad. The difference of points won between the first place team and the last place team is 9 points. Women's High Handicap Game at 255--UI Zaminer, 244 — Betty Finefrock, 232— Dorothy Schrader. Men's High Handicap Game at 265 — Jay Nagle, 255 — Dick Wicker, 246 — Gene Walz. Women's High Handicap Series 654 — Fran Melega,^ 650 — Dot Manion, 642 — Mary Wiker. Jay Nagle keeps an eye out for the difficult splits made by bowlers. He reports Roger Middlesteadt made the 5-10 split, Vaughan Brunjes hit the 4-6 split, and Bob Herbst, not once but twice knocked down 7-8 pins. A little excitement last week, after Tom Martynowski threw his hot fire ball and got a strike, all the lights and the computers were blown out!!! Don't know if Tom was responsible for the black out or not, but it gave everyone a good laugh. If you want to join the fun as a substitute call Jay Nagle at 247-5282. * Submitted by: Vaughan Brunjes Luminaria 1999 f The Pine Knoll will have candles & sale at each. ^ Shores Garden Club sets of ten bags for $5.00 These will be available at Town Hall from the afternoon of Wednesday, December until Friday, December 10^.
