MEET YOUR NEW NEIGHBORS
Two very interesting people, Rae and John Jones, have moved into 129 Hawtliorne Road on October 25.
Rae was born in Kent, England, near Dover and has a lovely British accent. She moved to the Isle of Malta for
2-1/2 years where she worked for the navy. Went back to England where she didn't like the dampness and cold.
Met some Americans and migrated to Canada for 5 years and then finally made it to America moving to Southern
California in 1963. She got her citizenship and loves being an American. John is her 3rd husband of 5 years now.
John was born in Oklahoma City, OK. Went in the Air Force. Then moved to Los Angeles, California for 35 years.
He met Rae 10 years' ago. After going through a few earthquakes they moved to the desert in 1992 at Rancho
Mirage, California, then moved to Overgoard, AZ.
Rae's daughter moved to Durham, NC, 5 years' ago. While visiting her daughter, they came down to Atlantic
Beach a few times. She fell in love with the area and decided to retire here so she'll be closer to her daughter
and 3 grandchildren.
John worked as a warehouse supervisor for the large Bekins Moving and Storage Co. in Los Angeles, Calif.
Rae was President of a real estate development firm in downtown Los Angeles where she was in charge of
property management and redevelopment.
Rae's daughter is Shelly, married to Noel Williamson. They have 3 children and live in Durham, NC.
John has three children. A son, Alan, is single and lives in Phoenix, AZ. A daughter, Leslie, is married to Bill Davis
and they have one child and live in Oklahoma City, OK. A son, Jonathan, who is single, lives in Sacramento, CA.
Rae plays golf, bridge, enjoys reading and doing cross-stitch and sews. John enjoys golf, a little bridge, likes to
fish and does remodeling around the house. They have a 5^'' wheel trailer and enjoy traveling to interesting
places-
They are enjoying the closeness and friendliness of the Pine Knoll Shores residents.

Vince and Heivi Larson just moved into 129 Beechwood Drive. They are busy painting and
redecorating the house. They originally lived in Poughkeepsie, New York, but relocated to Raleigh,
North Carolina about 30 years' ago.
Vince works in management for IBM but will retire at the end of March. HeIvi was a medical secretary
and then a homemaker doing a lot of volunteer work. In 1985 she decided she wanted a new career
so she enrolled in Meredith College and received a degree in interior design. She started her own
business doing drafting, space planning, interior design and remodeling and she has even designed
several homes.
They have two children. Beth is an elementary physical education teacher in Fayetteville, NC. She also
coaches girls' basketball. She is to be married this coming July. Brian, lives in Raleigh and sub
contracts with a firm from Charlotte installing blinds and shutters.
Vince and Heivi always loved the beach. Soon after moving to Raleigh they decided to look for a condo
either on a lake or on the ocean. In 1973 they bought a condo at Pine Knoll Townes. They have been
a part of Pine Knoll Shores life for over 26 years. They even remember our first mayor.
They both enjoy boating, tennis, and gardening and they want to try golf. They are very anxious to
get involved with the community. I am pleased to tell you that these two lovely people are my next
door neighbors and I couldn't be happier.
