January Board of Commissioners Meeting
Public Hearing
A public hearing was held on Tuesday, January 11, prior to the regular Board of
Commissioners meeting in regard to amendments to the Town's FY96 Land Use Plan. The
amendments would make the Land Use Plan consistent with efforts to gain public beach
access. Following the public hearing the Board of Commissioners voted to amend the Land
Use Plan to include the following:
Pine KnoH Shores supports the state's shoreline access policies as set forth in Chapter ISA,
Subchapter 7M of the North Carolina Administrative Code. The town will conform to CAM A
and other state and federal environmental regulations affecting the development of estuarine
access areas. The town will prepare a shoreline access plan and seek funding as necessary
for the construction of additional shoreline access facilities.
Resoiution - Soeciai Tax District seach Erosion
The PKS Board of Commissioners passed a resolution authorizing territory within the corporate
limits of Pine Knoll Shores to be included in County Service Districts for Beach Erosion Control
- District A and District B.
Notice: The Board of Commissioners has reinstated all permit fees
for hurricane related damages.
