Questions About Beach Nourishment?
Immediately after the March PKS Board of Commissioners meeting (approx. 2:45 p.m.) on March 14“’, a
representative from CITIZENS l=OR CARTERET COUIMTY'S FLTTURE will give a five minute presentation on beach
nourishment and answer any questions you might have regarding the referendum we will vote on March 21 at
Town Hall.

FEMA Reimbursement
Full reimbursement has been received from FEMA for expenses incurred by Pine Knoll Shores as a result of
Hurricane Floyd and Hurricane Dennis.
Resolution
The Board adopted a resolution outlining procedures for emergency pumping of floodwaters from municipal
streets.

Additional lights are being placed at Fairways Court and Birch Court.
Beach Berm
A berm has been approved for certain areas on the beach - 10 locations as indicated by FEMA.
Water Hearing
A hearing on the PKS water project is tentatively scheduled for sometime during the week of March 6.
Moratorium
The Board of Commissioners voted to extend the moratorium on oceanfront pruning for one year.
