Ju/y Board of Commissioners Meeting
Emergency Services Director
The Town of Pine Knoll Shores is in the process of hiring an Emergency Services Director who will
supervise all Emergency Services Departments. The Board of Commissioners lias been considering this
position for some time in their long range planning for the protection of the Town. The Director will assist and
coordinate the administrative and legal responsibilities required of the current three volunteer department heads.
This will relieve them from spending their valuable time doing the required paper work, which increases each
and every year. It will also ensure that today’s needs, as it relates to legal paper work, are met as well as position
the Town to meet its future needs and obligations.
This new position will replace no volunteer. This individual will be a professional experienced in the areas
of EMS, Emergency Management and Fire. With the ever-changing commissioners and volunteer chiefs, this
position will also provide the much-needed continuity with the various volunteer departments.
Pine Knoll Shores is a very fortunate community to have the caring and concerned volunteers who are
willing to give their time and skills to assist their “neighbors.” Your Board of Commissioners wants this
