Banks Friends only book sale, Friday, August
at the Shepard of the Sea Lutheran Church. The
book sale is open to the public on Saturday, August
26‘^ at Shepard of the Sea Church.
August A Monday at 10:30 a.m. the Sunnmer
Reading Program 2000 Celebration Party for ages
3-12 years. Certificates will be awarded with
refreshments following. If children cannot attend
the event, they may pick up their certificates
during the month of August.
The Summer Film Classics for children ages 3 years

Coalition will display original work by area artists.

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Friends of the Bogue Banks Library will hold
their semi-annual Book Sale on Saturday, August
26, 2000 from 1:00PM until 3:00 PM at the
Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 East
Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach (Just east of
the main intersection).
The sale is open to the public and offers an
excellent opportunity to buy current bestsellers,
other desirable books covering all subjects and
audio tapes at amazing bargain prices. The book
sale committee chairman is Charlie Welch.
The Friends solicit hook and tape donations for
the sale all year round. Donations may be left at
the Bogue Banks library and are greatly
appreciated.
All full and part-time residents as well as visitors
who value their use of the library are urged to
join the Friends. Membership dues are used
along with book sale proceeds and donations to
fund a variety of worthwhile projects. One
special benefit of being a member is access to
the. Members Only" hook sale held at 7:0Q PM
on the Friday evening preceding the semi-annual
book sale. A family membership is only $15 per
year, and an individual membership in only $10
per year, less than the cost of one new book.
The Friends 2000 budget contains funding for
foul weather book bags, new audio books,
summer reading programs, a magnifying reading
lamp' special pre-school story newsletters for
members and a new outdoor book return.
Continuing public support enable the Friends to
realize these ambitious goals.
