Pubiic Hearing
gjhe Pine Knoll Shores Board of Commissioners held its second Public Hearing on Tuesday, November
to get public input on establishment of Service Districts for the purpose of Financing Beach
Erosion Control, Flood and Hurricane Protection. Commissioner Gallo presented a synopsis of the
project. The Board took comments and answered questions. A show of hands indicated that citizens
agreed the Board should continue the process of establishing the service districts.
Regular Scheduled Meeting
Following the Public Hearing in their regular scheduled meeting the Board voted to establish, by
resolutions. Tax District 1 and Tax District 2 .
The Board voted to pass a resolution making certain findings and determinations, authorizing the filing
of an application with the Local Government Commission and appoint Bond Counsel in connection with
the proposed issuance of Beach Improvement bonds by the Town.
Resolution passed to release State Economic Development Funding to Region P.
The Board ratified the Resolution in support of Higher Education Bonds for North Carolina's Community
Colleges and Universities.
The Town was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the
consecutive year.
Town Tax Collector, Connie Shelton and Town Clerk, Ronda Lambert were recognized for fulfilling
requirements through the Institute of Government to receive certification in their current job positions.
garbage Pickup and Yard Waste Pickuo
Christmas Day is on a Monday, therefore the regular scheduled garbage pickup will be delayed until
Tuesday, December 26 and Yard Waste pickup will be delayed until Wednesday, December 27. New
Year's Day will also fall on a Monday, therefore the regular scheduled garbage pickup will be delayed
until Tuesday, January 2.
