Pafie 11 TrnmwiJ- The Shoreline March, 2002 \ I PKS Women's Club The Pine Knoll Shores Women's Club will have its March meeting on Friday, March 22"’" at the Town Hal! beginning at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments with the meeting starting at 10:00 a.m. The program will be "Fitness for Women" with Dana Schiro from the Fitness for Women Center in Morehead City. She will be speaking about the benefits of fitness for every age group. There will be a second "Shop on the Island" raffle with many local merchants and talented club members donating items for this raffle. After the meeting the Lunch Bunch will go to Williams the new restaurant in Morehead City that everyone is raving about. Anyone interested in joining this group can sign up at the meeting. The club's Beach Book Club will meet at Connie Parker's home on March at 2:00 p.m. to discuss Galileo's Daughter. The Book Bums Book Club will meet on March at Judy Poit's home and will discuss When We Were Grown-uns by Anne Tyler. The Third Book Club will meet March 4‘'^ at 10:00 a.m. at P ane Donovan's home and will discuss John Adams by David McCullough. The "Cook's Night Out" Group will go to the wonderful Calypso Cafe in Morehead City on March 8^^ Please call Pat Filan at 240-3119 to make reservations. Using the Online Public Access Catalog, patrons can now search for an item, request an item from another library and locate an item in the Library. The OPAC can also be accessed from home via the Internet (http://www.cpclib.org). What's New: "Questions and Answers About Medicare", a program presented by Diana Weber, NE Regional Manager of SHHIIP, a Division of the MNC Department of Insurance on Monday, March 25*'' at 1:00 p.m - 3 p.m. at the Library. Topics to be covered include the basics of Medicare, recent changes in Medicare, HMOs and Long Term Health Insurance. The program is a free public service but registration is requested, as seating is limited. Call the Llibrary. New Titles at the Library: Adult Fiction "Millionaires" by Brad Meltzer, "Up country" by Nelson DeMille and "Basket Case" by Carl Hiaasen. Juvenile Fiction "Dive" by Adele Griffin, "The Wild Kid" by Harry Mazer and "Up a Creek" by Laura Williams. Elementary Fiction "Little Red Train", "If Only I Were" and "King of the Pond" by Carl Summer. Activities for Children: Breakfast Serials "Secret School" by Ari will be featured on Sundays in March in the News Times. The Carteret Community Theatre will perform the story at 10:00 a.m. on WTKF 107.3. Preschool Storytimes will be each Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Ernestine.
