Bob Curry, Jr., Chair Meet Your New Neighbors Bill and Kathleen (Kathy) Foy moved into their lovely, tree- shaded home at 104 Hickory Court the end of September, 2001. They came from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Bill was in insurance until he retired in 1998. Kathy retired from Verizon Communications in 1994. After taking some time off, she became certified in Floral Design specializing in gift baskets. She also worked for a lawyer. Bill has two aunts living in North Carolina, Astrid Norman and Nellie Seale. His cousin, Richard Seale, and his wife, Linda, also live in Pine Knoll Shores. While visiting Astrid Norman they fell in love with the area. Astrid did some "scouting" work for them and when they saw the charming home on Hickory Court they knew that was the one for them. Bill and Kathy have five cats, each one beautiful and unique in its own way. All of their cats over the years have been named for either a flower or a tree as are Willow and Juniper, males. Periwinkle, Astor and Poppy, females. What fun to have a beautiful cat sit on a stool and seem to enjoy listening to your interview. Periwinkle was simply amazing. Bill makes beautiful clocks out of various woods as well as other pieces of furniture. The grandfather clock that greets you in the foyer is truly a "thing of beauty," marvelous workmanship. Kathy walks the beach twice a day. She enjoys gardening as well. They have joined the Bogue Banks Country Club and Kathy hopes to learn to play golf soon. Right now they are enjoying just being here in PKS. When I asked them if they had any special thoughts about PKS, they said that they loved the quiet, so different from the city. Their bird feeders attract many beautiful and different birds. They especially like thA people and the hospitality they have been shown since they moved here. Welcome. Submitted by Judy Poit
