On Monday, August 5th at 10:30 a.m. Mary Madden, award-winning author of books for young readers will join us for Stotytime. Ms. Madden’s books focus on coastal history and nature. She will be entertaining us with “A Sea Turtle’s Story” the life of an injured sea turtle, her rescue and recovery. Ms. Madden has said “When I meet the children who read my books, it gives me great joy!” Be sure to join us for this special event. Reception for Artists: Friday, August 9th at 3:30 p.m. at the library. Come and enjoy Suzanne Pachter’s watercolors and Judi Smith’s crafted items. This reception is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. It is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Book Sale: The Friends of the Bogue Banks Library will hold their next semi annual Book Sale on Saturday, August 17, 2002 from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. at the Shepard of the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach Featured Artists for August: Featured in the Art Gallery is a collection of watercolors by local artist Suzanne Pachter. Her works include lovely floral and coastal subjects. Colorful hand crafted satin and cotton turtles, fish and other coastal critters are the work of Morehead City seamstress Judi Smith. They are on display in the Showcase.
