CALENDAR FOR NOVEMBER
Using the Online Public Access Catalog, patrons can now search for, request,
and renew materials (if not overdue). The OPAC can be accessed from home
via the Internet (http://www.cpclib.org).
What’s New; Just in time for your holiday travel - new titles in the audiobook
section! Received in the non-fiction collection are “Mark Twain’s Library of
Humor” from Audio Partners, “When Character Was King” by Peggy Noonan
and “On Whale Island” by Daniel Hays. Additions to the fiction section include
“Beach House” by James Patterson, “Cat Who Went Up the Creek” by Lilian
Braun and “Hard Eight” by Janet Evannovich.
Featured Artists for November: A collection of florals, still lifes and landscapes
by Morehead City watercolor artist Madeline Hyman will be exhibited in the
library’s Gallery. The Showcases will display a colorful assortment of brush
painted tiles by Beaufort artist Elizabeth Priddy.
Reception for Artists: Hosted by the Friends of the Library on Friday, November
8th at 3:30 p.m. in the library’s Art Gallery. The reception is open to the public.
Come and visit with the artists and enjoy their works. Light refreshments will be
served.
Activities for Children: Preschool Storytimes will be held each Monday at 10:30
a.m. This program is conducted by Miss Ernestine.
YOUNG ADULT READERS: Ghost from the Past The Mystery of Gull Cottage A
12 chapter continuing story by local author, Mary Madden for preteen and
beginning adult readers will be presented in Sunday’s edition of the Carteret
County News- Times. Follow clues along with Toby and Ali and attempt to solve
the mystery of the cottage and find the key to treasure.
Special Closings: The library will be closed on Monday, November 11th for the
