Page 14 The Shoreline December 2004 Beaufort Christmas Walk The Beaufort Historical Association will hold its annual Coastal Carolina Christmas Walk from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. This free, self-guided walking tour is a great way to see the buildings of the Beaufort Historic Site, Beaufort’s charming bed & breakfasts inns, and local historic churches - all decorated for the season. The tour will begin at the Beaufort Historic Site on the 100 block of Turner Street. The historic buildings of the Site will be open and decorated in appropriate period fashion to give visitors a taste of what Beaufort was like in Christmases past and musicians will pro vide old-fashioned seasonal music through out the Historic Site. Six Beaufort bed & breakfast inns as well as a Beaufort House ondominium are on the tour and decorated with their own holiday flare. Each one welcomes you to enjoy a glimpse of their lodgings and some light refreshments. The inns include the water front Beaufort Inn, the spacious Inlet Inn, the eclectic Cousin Martha’s, the quaint Delamar Inn, the inviting Pecan Tree Inn, and the creatively converted Carteret County Home. Historic Ann Street Churches will also be participating in the Christmas Walk. Both St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Ann Street Methodist Church will be open and decorated for the tour. You may choose to start the Christmas Walk by taking a lively narrated tour of Beaufort’s historic district aboard the BHA’s vintage English double-decker bus at 1:30 pm. While the Christmas Walk is free, the bus tour costs $6 for adults and $4 for children. Maps of the tour and refreshments will be available at the Safrit Historical Center, lo cated at 130 Tumer Street.
