River Cruise

Keep a sharp eye out for the birds,
bottlenose dolphin and other marine
life during this calm-water cruise. $20

Fishing Fanatics 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
An hour of instruction is followed by
two hours of surf fishing, with equipment

Onboard Collection Cruise

All aboard for a trawl and dredge
excursion in coastal waters to see what

Nature Crafts

masterpiece with step-by-step guidance;

Wednesdays
Surfing Lessons
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Catch some waves in the famed North
Carolina surf with the Aquarium's
beginner surfboards and instructions.
$15 — Ages 10 and up
Sea Squirts
1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Preschoolers, ages 4-5, spend an hour
learning about different marine species
with live animals, crafts to bring home,
’storytelling and videos.

Close Encounters Behind-the-Scenes
Tours 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Go behind the scenes to see the
Aquarium's inner workings in this 90-
minute tour. $8 - Ages 6 and up
Night Trek 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Stroll the nighttime beach as you learn
about the fascinating life of sea turtles,
and look for loggerheads that nest in
the sand.

Thursdays
Barrier Island Exploration
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Trek the maritime forest, the salt marsh
and the shallow waters of Bogue Sound
to learn about the fascinating creatures
that live in these vital habitats. $5 —Ages

Snorkeling the Sea

Aquarium naturalist on a snorkeling trip

Enjoy pizza, learn about animal care and
see what it's like to feed the creatures.

Aquarist Apprentice

Join staff behind-the-scenes tour and
participate in animal care. Limited to 5
participants per session.

Kayaking the Theodore Roosevelt
Natural Area — 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Explore protected marsh habitats, tidal
flats and quiet backwaters so important
to the life cycle of diverse flora and
fauna. Kayaks provided. $20 — Ages 12

Sea Wizards 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Creative art projects, games, sea life,
videos and live animals introduce
children in grades K-2 to marine life. $8

Picnic Paddle - Canoe the Theodore
Roosevelt Natural Area 10 a.m. - 1

Bring a picnic and enjoy a leisurely
canoe trek through quiet backwaters
to explore the diversity of a salt marsh.

Coastal Explorers

Explorers discover the world of marine
life beneath the surface in this summer
day camp for children entering grades
4-5. $150
All programs require advance registration.

Craven Concert
Series
Season tickets are now available for the
2006-07 season of Craven Concerts, Inc.
After a sold out season this past year.
Craven Concerts is looking forward to
another blockbuster season opening this
fall. No tickets will be sold individually
and single member tickets are priced at $75
each for a series of five programs. Ticket
information may be obtained on the website,
www.cravenconcertsinc.org, or by calling
(252) 637-1119.
The season will open Sept. 20 with "Puttin'
on the Hitz: The best of Irving Berlin"
featuring a cast of eight singers and dancers
plus a quartet. The second show Oct. 24
will be a celebration of world dance by the
Russian Seasons Dance Company. On Jan.
17 the acclaimed Irish Sopranos will appear,
and on Feb. 14 the Great China Acrobats
troupe will present a fast-paced program
of high energy dance and athleticism.
Concluding the season will be Ken Page,
the Broadway legend best known for his
role as Nicely-Nicely in "Guys and Dolls".
His presentation will include the music of
Broadway, top 40 radio songs, and Page's
unique storytelling.
