Festival of Trees Ushers in Holidays
By Bill White
As you read this, the holidays
will still be nearly two
months away. But the
holiday spirit will arrive
in earnest just about a
month from now when
the annual Festival of
Trees debuts at the Crystal
Coast Civic Center in
Morehead City.
Now in its third decade,
the festival is a week-long
series of events that play
out against the backdrop
of a hall full of seven and
nine foot trees, one more
beautifully decorated
than the other. Last year
some 70 trees graced the
hall and organizers are
hoping to
'tis almost the season
top that this year as the
festival ushers in the
holiday season.
The trees are sponsored
by businesses and
organizations and
are either decorated
professionally or dressed
in their holiday finery by

find out how the voting went as it was
happening or immediately after. For
those of you who are not around here
this time of year and do not have access
to media covering Carteret County, Tlte

Christmas Parade
The annual Pine Knoll Shores Christmas parade will be held Saturday, Dec.l. It
will begin at 10 a.m. starting at Magnolia Court and proceeding along Oakleaf Drive
to Sycamore Road. Participants will start lining up at 9 a.m. at the Magnolia Court

We would like to have a headline in this
edition of The Shoreline proclaiming the
results of the Nov. 6 municipal election.
Unfortunately, the requirements of
producing and distributing through the
mail a monthly publication such as this
leave us betwixt and between.
This edition had to be sent to the printer
the Friday before the election and, by the
time it goes through the process of being
printed and then prepared for mailing.
