Terrie Sweeney and long-time friend
Louise Clark from Branford, New
Hampshire, have long wished to explore
the area of the French Polynesians and
Cook Islands. They got their wish when
the Princess Lines offered a cruise to leave
from Tahiti. They flew out of Raleigh
to Pepeete, the capital of Tahiti, which
was made famous in the movie "Mutiny
on the Bounty." They boarded the liner
Tahiti Princess to begin the cruise, which
would take them to stops at Balung,
Hukahine and Riatai. There the layovers

included the obligatory shopping venture
and a swim in a magnificent location
featuring turquoise waters that were so
inviting. Also included in the stop was
an evening entertainment that featured
native dancing, and a trip to the site of
a World War II gun emplacement that
Terrie's husband Dick spoke about during
his stint during the war. On the ship their
cabin featured a large room with a balcony
that afforded the passengers a magnificent
view of the ocean and various islands that
the ship cruised past.
