Each month Bogue Banks PubUc Library receives new additions to the adult collection and audio book collections. The newly acquired books to the collection include: Agains t Medical Advice: A True Sfory,by James Patterson; The Book of Lies, by Brad Meltzer, and Dark Summer, by Iris Johansen. Featured compact disc titles include: Hot Mahogany, by Stuart Woods; The Brass Verdict, by Michael Connelly, and A Cedar Cove Christmas,hy Debbie Macomber. Activities for Children: Join us for Toddler Time every other Wednesday. Preschool Storytime is held each Thursday at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, will feature "Lovely Leaves;" Thursday, November 13, will be "Cooperative Cornucopia," and Thursday, November 20 is "Happy Turkey Day!" Toddler Time is on November 19 at 10 a.m. Preschool Story time, Thursday, November 25, is at 10 a.m. Programs are with Ms. Brita. Featured Artwork: Through the month of November the Art Gallery of the library will feature fine art by a select group of Pine Knoll Shores artists. These local artists work in a diverse range of media and styles depicting beach and coastal scenes as well as florals, children, animals and abstracts. The Showcase will display the work of Thelma Brauns of Emerald Isle, creator of "The Lucy Bag," a hand-knitted woolen bag in the beautiful heather colors of the Scottish countryside. Plan to join our gallery artists at a public reception on Friday, November 14, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Art Gallery. The library's regular hours areMonday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PKS Women's Club Reaches Out The PKS Women's Club meeting on September 26 featured Herb Pierson, a local minister whose topic, "Pop Me If I Complain," focused on enjoying a complaint-free life. He gave each member a stretchy spirit band that she could wear on her wrist and pop it rather than complain. President Gail Halada's theme, "Reach Out and Touch Someone" resulted in seven guests at the meeting. She reminded members to continue to invite a friend to the club. Marsha Deane reviewed items that will be in the club's Women Welcoming Womens packet. Membership chairs, Barbara Fix and Joy Amico, announced there are 83 current members of the club. A basket was passed for donations in memory of deceased member Dolores Gallo. Proceeds will be given to the scholarship fund. Entertainment books featuring coupons for restaurants and stores are available for $25. There is an increased variety of local entries this ' year. Proceeds will also help fund the annual scholarship. Pauly Brown, reporting on famous women, talked about Lynn Cheney, Vice President Cheney's wife. She is the author of 12 books, five of which are children's books. Hospitality chair, Donna Belanger, reported that the Christmas luncheon Dec. 5 will be at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast. The cost will be $17, due by November 30. Entertainment will be provided by Connie Mason. Members may bring a guest. The Pine Knoll Shores Women's Club board will meet at 9 a.m., November 14 at town hall. The regular meeting is November 21, with a social at 9:30 a.m. and meeting at 10 a.m. which will feature a seasonal fashion show sponsored by Lynette's Two. The Supper Club will meet November 16 with dinner courses at the houses of members. Contact Pat Ruggiero.
