Page 2 The Shoreline November 2008 Emergency Services During September there were 42 calls for service. EMS had 12 calls and 5 patients were transported, 4 of whom required paramedic assistance. The fire department had 30 calls, 11 of which were service calls, 6 activated alarms, 2 fires (one in Salter Path), 2 weather related, 1 auto accident and 8 mutual aid. The department participated in 149 man hours of training. During an emergency, it is not the time for the fire department or ambulance personnel to play guessing games trying to locate a particular address. There is an amended ordinance pertaining to display of house numbers readily visible from the street, as well as a number down by the street. The deadline for compliance is December 9, 2008. Police Report During September there were 86 calls for service including 1 accident, 9 assist other agencies, 11 assist fire/EMS, 4 town ordinance violations, 20 security checks, 5 alarms and 4 unlocked doors. There were 18 citations involving 23 charges, 2 for driving while impaired, 7 speeding, 3 driving while suspended, 2 drug violations, 2 alcohol violations and 9 all other. Twenty-five warning tickets were issued. There were 102 residence checks and 353 business checks. Five break-ins were reported, but the person who was charged admitted to ten break-ins. The latest "hot" items are laptops and GPS's. A car was broken into at Ocean Park and a pocketbook was removed from the trunk. Witnesses described seeing a young male on a bicycle hanging around the parking lot earlier. Electrical Continued from Page 1 first month consumption this year was measured against 2007 benchmarks. The goal of the conservation campaign being championed by town officials is to reduce energy consumption in the community by 10 percentby next summer.
