A lady from Kilgore, Texas had an accident and totaled her car. It was raining, though not excessively, when her car suddenly began to hydroplane and literally flew through the air. She was not seriously injured but stunned at the sudden occurrence. When she explained to the highway patrolman whathad happened, he told her something that every driver should know: never drive in the rain with your cruise control on. She thought she was being cautious by graduated from North Carolina State, obtained her masters degree in public health at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and is employed at the North Carolina State Department of Public Health. On January 16, they marked their 50* wedding anniversary at a dinner with friends at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast. Several weeks before, they enjoyed a reunion visit with their nephew, Larry Chalk and his wife Judy. They had not seen the Chalks, who make their home in Haven Beach, N. J. in 12 years. To make the reunion at the Chambers' PKS home even more enjoyable their niece Janet Neckyfarow and her husband Steve came down from Chocowinity to join the party. Pat is at the right in the accompanying photo with her niece Janet next to her. The Chalks occupy the center of the photo and Janet's husband Steve completes the picture at left.
