Budget Planning for Fiscal Year 2009-2010- Quly 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010) We have started our planning for next year. If you are interested, 1 suggest you attend the second monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners in April (April,23) and May ( May, 28). Dinner with the Town Manager- My next dinner will be on April, 22 (a date change from the announcement last month) at the ClamDigger. Time is 5:30. In July I will have this event on a Saturday evening. Sidewalk Planning to Start- We have been given our notice to proceed by NCDOT. This means that we will start a year long period in which we will write a pedestrian plan for PKS. Each home owners group has a representative on the planning committee. Police Academy Dates in April- We will have Citizen Police Academies in the public safety building on Thursday's in April at the below listed times. The Citizens' Police Academy is designed to introduce citizens the philosophy, policies, and guiding principals of law enforcement and ethical conduct governing police services in our community. •Thursday, April 2, 6-8 p.m. •Thursday, April 9, 6-8 p.m. •Thursday, April 16, 6-8 p.m.. •Thursday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. •Thursday, April 30, 6-8 p.m. -- Town of Pin^KndlltSliores Board of Cbmmissibriers Work at Brock Basin Pump House- We will have some major work going on in April at the pump house at Brock Basin. Expect some unusual activity there. New Water Meters at Many Multi family Units- If you own a property at a multi-family unit, there is a pretty good chance that we will soon install a new meter that improves the accuracy of usage. We presently have meters that record large amounts of usage in the summer months, but not small amounts in the off season. The result of this will likely be an increase in billing, particularly in the off season. Call with questions 247-4353, ext 16. HVAC System at Town Hall- Our .^HVAG^stem at Town Hall is in terrible shape. We are looking at making this a priority over the next year to fix. She cleans around 20 homes in the area. One fam ily tried to either catch her in the act or provide proof of theft. They recorded serial numbers of the money left in the house. After the money disappeared, the woman was arrested and eventually confessed to the crime. Chief Culpepper urges everyone to be wary when cleaning people and other trades people have access to your home.
