Even .though the "season" ended on
Labor Day weekend, there continue to
be many activities and events taking
place along the Crystal Coast. Many are
free to the public while others require
registration and some require a fee.
Listed below are some of the activities
and events scheduled for November.

Tuesday
3 Blackbeard: Fact and Folklore-
Examine the legends and historical
evidence surrounding the life and times
of this pirate and why this day is the
anniversary of his death. Presented by
David Moore at 2 p.m. at NC Maritime

Wednesday
4 Ports and Pilots-Video and tour of
NC State Port at Morehead City at noon.

Thursday
5 Christmas Flotilla-Boat parade
begins at 5:30 p.m. in Morehead City
and arrives in Beaufort at approximately
6:15 p.m. awards to follow at the NC
Maritime Museum auditorium. Phone

Friday
6 Traditional Boat Handling-Leam
handling traits of traditional small craft.
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations - $85 tickets.

6-7 Crystal Coast Paranormal
Research Symposium-An educational,
enhghtening and enjoyable weekend of
other-worldly entertainment. "Ghosts
of Carteret County Dinner" at the
Sarutary Fish Market and Restaurant
and symposium presentation at the
Crystal Coast Civic Center. Phone

Saturday
7 Adult Sailing-Sail training aboard
stable 17' - 19" sailboats. 9 a.m. to 1

7 Veteran's Day Parade-Begirming at
11 a.m. the annual Veteran's Day Parade
will take place in downtown Morehead

7 Annual Antique-A-Thon-At the
History Place, Morehead City, experts
evaluate items for the public, in addition
a 200 item silent auction will be held. Call

information.
7 St. Andrews Episcopal Church
Bazaar-From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. the
bazaar will feature the popular Jumble
Sale with items donated by members
of the parish, ECW bake sale and
booths with works of local artists and
craftspeople. Breakfast and lunch
served by the church youth will also

9 Beaufort's Bottlenose Dolphins-
Photo and display of local dolphins by
Keith Rittmaster at 11 a.m. at the NC

Tuesday
10 Coastal Whales-Photos and
discussion of local whales by Keith

Wednesday
11 Free Admission Day at NC
Aquarium-In honor of Veteran's Day
all visitors will be admitted free. Call

Friday
13 "Lunch with a Dash of History"-
This series features Rodney Kemp and
is held at noon at the History Place in
Morehead City. Tickets are $10 with
lunch and $4 without. Reservations
are required and will be accepted with
payment before Wednesday prior to the

13 Holiday Open House-Following
the Friends of the Museum Armual
Meeting that begins at 2 p.m. the
Holiday Open House will be open to
the public from 3 to 4 p.m. at the NC

13 Maritime Seafood Dinner Series-
Converse about current issues while
savoring local dishes. 5:30 p.m. at NC
Maritime Museum. Reservations and

14 "Mistletoe Magic" Holiday Gift
and Craft Show-Gifts galore for the
upcoming holidays. Pottery, jewelry,
purses, accessories; art of all kinds and

14 St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Annual Holiday Bazaar-The women
of the Beaufort parish are holding this
annual bazaar begirming at 10 a.m. and
concluding at 2 p.m. Featured will be
handmade crafts, books, toys, Christmas
decor, kitchen gadgets, garden center,
unique treasures, frozen and baked
foods, jams, pickles and more. Luncheon
will be served from 11:30 to 1 with take
outs from 11 to 11:30 at a cost of $10 per

19 Heritage Watercraft: Ancestry
and Development of NC's Sport

20-30 Crystal Coast Holiday Show-
The entire cast and band fills the stage
with songs that celebrate the season.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 students
(13 to 16) and $12 child (12 and under).

Saturday
21 Jumble Sale-The Beaufort Historic
Site becomes a community market with
art, handmade crafts, holiday gifts, pre
loved treasurers, antiques, clothing.

Sunday
22 Community Thanksgiving Feast-
Some of the area's finest restaurants will
provide a traditional turkey dinner at
the Beaufort Historic Site. Dinners are
available for take-out or to enjoy in a
tent at the site. For details and cost call

22 "Healing Hearts" Fashion Show
and Luncheon-This armual event of
the Carteret County Domestic Violence
Program ushers in the holiday season
while also raising money to shelter and
support victims of family violence. It all
begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Crystal Coast
Civic Center with a buffet lunch catered
by Floyd's 1921, followed by a fashion
show featuring styles from a dozen
stores and boutiques and concluding
with a silent auction of a variety of items
donated by local artists and businesses.

22-30 Arts and Crafts Coalition
Holiday Show and Sale-This show
and sale of original juried artwork by
members of the Carteret County Arts
and Crafts Coalition will be held at the

27 Swansboro Christmas Flotilla-
This event begins at dusk in Historic
Downtown Swansboro. For additional

Saturday
28 Emerald Isle Holiday Parade-At
4 p.m. the parade begins at the CVS
pharmacy on Emerald Drive and
concludes at Merchant's Park with
the official lighting of the Christmas
tree. Enjoy refreshments and holiday
caroling sing-along as children visit
