Maureen Kilgallen and her Irish terrier, Gibson, enjoying the ambiance outside Pine Knoll Shores' Town Hall, alongside a few donated items for the "PKS Kayak for the Warriors" Silent Auction on Saturday, June 12. Although most of the focus on that day will be on the "Big Race Event" which starts at 10 a.m. at Gamer Park and the Bicycle Fun Race at McNeill Park at 8 a.m., a variety of beautiful and unique items for the Silent Auction are starting to come in at a lively pace. Vendors at the picturesque "Friendly Market" in Morehead City have already donated several outstanding handmade items and art works. The names of our wonderful donors, so far, are being highlighted in this issue of "Kramer's Komer". We are anxious to add more names to that list, so please consider donating what you can to our "Third Annual PKS Kayak for the Warriors" event. For more information and to find out how you can donate, volunteer, or participate in this fun-filled patriotic fundraiser, please call PKS Town Hall at 247- 4353 or visit our Website at www.kayakforthewarriors. org. Annual Easter-Egg Hunt By Jill Cross We had another great egg hunt at Gamer Park. Weather that was perfect in every way brought a huge crowd. Missy Klor and I were excited to hide the most eggs ever this year—1,800! The toddlers had their own section roped off again so they didn't butt heads with the serious egg finders. We would like to thank everyone who donated in one way or another— whether it was by baking cookies, donating eggs, hiding them, or giving money or candy. All contributions were appreciated. The Easter Bunny made an appearance this year, which was a terrific surprise. Parents had fun taking pictures of their children hugging the bunny, even though a few of the kids screamed when they were brought near the huge bunny. Mayor Ken Jones even got a burmy hug in while enjoying the event. We so appreciate the great attendance, knowing It's A Girl.
