MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATER April 29-30. - The History Place (1008 Arendell Street, downtown Morehead City) is proud to present a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater on the last Friday and Saturday of April. As din ner is served, a murder occurs, and the audience learns that everyone has a motive. What’s more, the mo tive involves a treasure map. If anyone can figure out the clues, that map will reveal a fortune in Mexican gold. The dinner theater is interactive; and between scenes, the characters visit each table and talk with the audience, so everyone can take a crack at solving the crime. In this particular produc tion, audience members also get a copy of the map and its clues so they can try to figure out the location of the gold as well. This annual family fun and fitness road race in Morehead City is spon sored by the Lookout Rotary Club and takes place on the last Saturday of April. This is a flat and fast course with an event for every age and every- skill level. The road race begins and ends at the Sports Center, and participants can run a lOK, 5K or one-mile race, or take part in the baby-jogger race. There is also a 5K and one mile fitness walk; Proceeds from the event benefit local charities and civic organizations. There is'an entry fee, and families get a price break. Prizes are awarded. The Wooden Boat Show was the first and is the largest gathering of wooden watercraft in the South east. This is not a commercial show. Instead, it is a full day of scheduled demonstrations, talks and races that attract people who share an interest in the art, crafl:smanship and history of wooden boats. Enthusiasts race radio-controlled boats in the pool on the Maritime Museum patio, and the public is given an opportunity to sail in traditional North Carolina boats. The show also offers music, a naval encampment and a shipwreck exhibit. Tliis show has something fun for all ages, so be sure to bring the whole family. The museum offers wooden boat-related exhibits and events dur ing the week leading up to the show.
