Good Reading at Book Nook By Dot Miller Many area residents and visitors have discov ered a new opportunity at the Bogue Banks Public Library,.the Book Nook, the perfect answer for your summer reading, although by no means “fluff” reading. All sorts of books and authors are pre sented in the ever-changing selection of hardback books for $3 each and trade paperbacks for $1. The Book Nook idea came to members of the Friends Board at a meeting several years ago and has become a key support of library programs. The books have been treated kindly by their owners and are carefully inspected by our library staff before being placed on the shelves. Proceeds go to the many programs of the library, especially important during these times of across- the-board budget cuts. Drop by the library fre quently to choose from this ever-changing selection of good reading. Dates to hold: The semi-annual Used Book Sale Friday and Saturday, August 12-13, at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, and the 30th anniversary of the Bogue Banks Public Library on or about September 27. Our library serves all residents of At lantic Beach, Emerald Isle, and Pine Knoll Shores.
