Natural Side of Fort Macon Hike. September 8,15, 22 8c 29,10-11 a.m. Meet in the Visitor Center lobby
for a leisurely hike covering both trail and beach.
Friday Free Flick. September 9 at 7 p.m. at the Emerald Isle Community Center. Movies are family
oriented. Free and open to the public; children must be accompanied by an adult. Popcorn and drink for
$1. Bring chairs and/or blankets. No outside beverages or snacks. Call 354-6350 for movie title one week

Newport Flea Mall Monster Truck Jam. September 9. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and show begins at 7:30.
Advance adult tickets are $18, at the gate $20. Children 6 to 12 are $8, and children 5 and under are free.
Introduction to Wooden Boatbuilding. September 10-11, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Harvey W. Smith
Watercraft Center, 315 Front Street in Beaufort. In this two-day, hands-on course, students learn
techniques of boatbuilding, and by the end of the course will have the knowledge and skill to build on

Explore Rachel Carson Reserve. September 13, 9-11:30 a.m. Sponsored by the NC Maritime Museum,
315 Front Street in Beaufort. A guided hike, led by Associate Museum Curator Benjamin Wunderly, will
take you through the different habitats found on Town Marsh and Bird Shoal. Not suitable for children
